Frequently Asked Questions About Body Worx Care
-
At BODY WORX Physical Therapy, we believe physical therapy should be more than just treating pain. We help people move better, perform better, and stay active for the long term.
We are not a cookie-cutter physical therapy clinic. We believe anyone with a body is an athlete. Whether your goal is to hit a new personal record in the gym, play with your grandchildren, enjoy a pain-free round of golf, or take on a major adventure later in life, you deserve to move and live your best.
Our performance-based approach focuses on finding and treating the root cause of your problem instead of only addressing symptoms. We help you recover from injuries, improve your movement, prevent future problems, and get back to the activities you love.
What makes BODY WORX different?
At BODY WORX, every visit is:
One-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy
Personalized to your goals and needs
Focused on education, movement, and long-term results
You will never be passed off to a therapy technician or rushed through an appointment. Your physical therapist will spend the full session helping you understand your condition, improve your movement, and build the skills needed to continue progressing between visits.
Because we spend more time with each patient and provide individualized care, many patients are able to reach their goals faster than they would with traditional physical therapy models.
Our goal is not to keep you in therapy forever. Our goal is to give you the knowledge, tools, and confidence you need to stay active and healthy long after your treatment ends.
Our clinic may feel like a welcoming gym environment—with a friendly dog, plenty of laughs, and a relaxed atmosphere—but we take your results seriously. Helping athletes, active adults, and the Abilene community stay strong and pain-free is what drives everything we do.

At BODY WORX Physical Therapy, we believe the best care happens when your treatment is focused on you—not insurance restrictions.
Traditional insurance-based physical therapy often comes with limitations that can affect the quality of care you receive. Many in-network clinics must see multiple patients per hour to meet insurance requirements and keep care affordable. This can mean less one-on-one time with your physical therapist, more time spent with a technician, and treatment plans that may not be fully customized to your goals.
By choosing an out-of-network, cash-based model, BODY WORX is able to provide:
One full hour of one-on-one care with a Doctor of Physical Therapy
Personalized treatment plans based on your goals
More time focused on education, movement, and long-term results
Fewer unnecessary visits and a more efficient recovery process
Without insurance dictating your treatment plan, we can focus on what matters most: helping you get better and stay better.
Our approach allows us to provide higher-level, individualized care that addresses the root cause of your problem—not just your symptoms. We teach you the tools and strategies you need to take ownership of your recovery, so you can return to the activities you love with confidence.
At BODY WORX, you won’t find cookie-cutter physical therapy. You’ll receive care designed around your body, your goals, and your lifestyle. We believe investing in your health is one of the best decisions you can make.

The cost of physical therapy and performance training services at BODY WORX varies based on your specific needs and treatment plan. For current pricing information, please contact our office at 325-261-0043.
BODY WORX is an out-of-network physical therapy clinic, which means we do not directly bill or accept insurance. However, many patients may still be eligible for reimbursement through their insurance provider.
Upon request, we can provide a superbill, which is a detailed receipt that includes the necessary billing codes for you to submit to your insurance company. To find out if you qualify for reimbursement, contact your insurance provider and ask if your plan includes out-of-network physical therapy benefits.
We also recommend checking your:
Out-of-network deductible
In-network deductible
Coverage limits for physical therapy services
In some cases, the cost difference between in-network and out-of-network care may be smaller than expected—especially when considering the value of one-on-one treatment, fewer visits, and a more personalized approach.
At BODY WORX, we believe in transparent pricing and quality care. You won’t have to worry about hidden fees, unexpected bills months later, or surprise charges after your treatment is complete.
We also offer flexible payment options, including:
HSA and FSA payment options
Monthly payment plans
Discounted pricing for 10-visit and 20-visit care packages
Our goal is to make high-quality, personalized physical therapy accessible while helping you get the results you’re looking for.

No! In Texas, you can start physical therapy without a referral through direct access. This means you can schedule an evaluation with a physical therapist and begin treatment without first seeing another healthcare provider.
After your initial physical therapy evaluation, Texas law requires that you obtain a referral within the required timeframe if continued care is needed. A referral can come from a qualified healthcare provider, including:
Physician
Physician Assistant (PA)
Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Chiropractor
Podiatrist (for foot or ankle conditions)
Dentist (for oral or TMJ-related conditions)
At BODY WORX, we are happy to help guide you through the referral process if needed. Our goal is to make getting the care you need as simple and stress-free as possible.
If you’re dealing with pain, an injury, or a movement limitation, you can contact BODY WORX PT to schedule your evaluation and get started.

Yes, we do! BODY WORX offers dry needling as part of our physical therapy services to help address muscle pain, improve movement, and support recovery.
Dry needling is an advanced treatment technique that uses thin, sterile, monofilament needles inserted into specific areas of muscle tissue. It can help:
Reduce muscle tension and myofascial pain
Address trigger points
Improve range of motion
Increase muscle activation
Support recovery after sports, workouts, or physical activity
Dry needling is not a separate service or an added expense at BODY WORX. If it is appropriate for your condition and goals, it can be included as part of your personalized physical therapy treatment plan.
Your physical therapist will determine whether dry needling is a good fit during your initial evaluation and incorporate it into your care plan when beneficial.
